The "EPIC screen" below shows several tangent lines
drawn on the graph of the function shown at the top of the EPIC
screen. Tangent lines may be drawn to either F(x) or G(x), if
two functions have been entered. The point of tangency may be
entered from the keyboard, may be pointed to by the mouse, or
may be entered "automatically" by selecting the value
from a list of saved numbers, such as roots of a function, intersection
points, etc.
The red tangent at x=1 is the one whose equation is shown at the
top of the screen. The other two tangent lines were drawn at the
approximate roots of F, as shown by the small circles near these
points. These points were chosen by clicking the mouse.
