CS005: Advanced Word Processing and Spreadsheets

Description: This course  is intended to give students a more in-depth understanding of personal computers and how they are used as a problem-solving tool.   Students will extend their knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications beyond the introduction obtained through CS002 (Microprocessor Applications).  Word processing topics include outlines, tables, templates, indexing, cross-referencing,  macros, and on-line forms.  Spreadsheet topics include what-if analyses using data tables, solver, goal seeking and scenario manager; data analysis via sorting, data forms and pivot tables; creating dialogs, and macros.  The course concludes with a final team project that combines all information learned in the course.

Note: This course is not being offered for Fall 2001. It will next be offered in the Spring of 2002. The information here, from Spring 2000, is available for your information. Please contact the instructor should you have questions.
