CS005: Advanced Word Processing
and Spreadsheets

Description: This course is intended to give students a more in-depth
understanding of personal computers and how they are used as a problem-solving
tool. Students will extend their knowledge of word processing
and spreadsheet applications beyond the introduction obtained through CS002
(Microprocessor Applications). Word processing topics include outlines,
tables, templates, indexing, cross-referencing, macros, and on-line
forms. Spreadsheet topics include what-if analyses using data tables,
solver, goal seeking and scenario manager; data analysis via sorting, data
forms and pivot tables; creating dialogs, and macros. The course
concludes with a final team project that combines all information learned
in the course.
Note: This course is not being offered for Fall 2001.
It will next be offered in the Spring of 2002.
