A Little Biography

UVM

Greetings! I am an Adjunct Lecturer in Computer Science teaching CS2, Microcomputer Applications and CS5, Advanced Word Processing and Spreadsheets. I have been teaching CS2 since 1995 and I love it! I hope the students do too. CS5 was a new course for Spring 1998. My prior UVM teaching experience is in the School of Business Administration, lecturing in both Management Information Systems and Quality Control.

Full Time Vocation

My full time job is at IDX Systems Corporation in South Burlington where I am a Lead Project Manager. I have been with IDX since 2001.

I have held several previous positions. Prior to IDX, I was Director, Information Technology at Vermont Technical College (VTC) in Randolph Center, Vermont (Exit 4 on I-89). There I was responsible for all of the computing systems on campus. I started that job on September 11, 2000. My prior job was across the street from UVM at Trinity College of Vermont where I served as Director of Information Technology Services. In that role, I was responsible for all academic and administrative computing for the College as well as the telephone system. I assumed this role on 1/22/96. The announcement that the college would close was what prompted me to see the VTC position.

IBM

My prior background is with IBM. I retired from the company in 1996, having completed thirty years of service. During my IBM career, I was a programmer, software and hardware planner, software development manager, quality focus manager (total quality management), and finally a cost reduction (re-engineering) facilitator.

Other Significant Activities

So what else have I done or do I do? I have:

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and my graduate degree from the University of Vermont .
