CS 32: Required Materials
- There is no required textbook for this course. Reading materials will be distributed in class or posted online.
Some references will be available in the Bailey-Howe Library.
- Access to a computer with Racket programming environment. Racket can be
downloaded for free from
www.racket-lang.org. (Each student will be
given a computer account that will enable use of Racket on most of the
public computers in the Votey building. However, you should also install
this software on own computer.)
- Two (or more) six-sided dice.
- Fifty to one-hundred counters (e.g., pennies, buttons, poker chips,
M&Ms).
- One standard, 3x3x3 Rubik’s cube (usually available at
Vermont Toy and Hobby in Essex or South Burlington,
Barnes and Noble (102 Dorset St., South Burlington),
Hessport’s Rubik’s Shop, or amazon.com.
If you need to purchase a new cube, I recommend the Dayan GuHong Speed Cube.
Note, however, that this model has no stickers and cannot be taken apart.
